New Construction

If you are building a new home, Air Tech can build your central air conditioning system from the ground up. We’ll get all the ductwork installed, advise you on the most efficient type of system for your home size and situation, and make sure that you aren’t paying one penny more than what’s necessary to keep you and your family comfortable.

There’s a lot of different options when it comes to what type of air conditioner to install in a new home, and we are here to help you choose the right one.

Air Conditioning Repair

Nothing is worse than having your air conditioner stop working on a hot summer day! But don’t worry, Air Tech can fix all the common problems that cause air conditioners to break down or not work properly, including:

  • Frozen coils
  • Water leaking from the unit
  • Refrigerant leaks
  • Bad smells when air conditioner is turned on
  • Compressor or fan failure
  • Duct failure or leak

Call us today to make an appointment for our technicians to come out and inspect your air conditioner, determine what the problem is, and give you a free estimate for how much it would cost to repair.

Air Conditioning Maintenance

Regular preventative maintenance of your air conditioner is essential to keeping it running properly, reducing your energy costs, and extending the life of your unit.

At the very least, we recommend getting your unit serviced once a year, and changing your filters monthly (unless you have a HEPA filter, which only needs to be changed once every six months or so).

Our air conditioning service plans take care of all the routine tasks needed to keep your unit in top shape, including:

  • Flushing the drain
  • Add Clorox tablets to the drain for mold prevention
  • Check Freon levels
  • Clean the coils
  • Inspection of the unit

Performing these tasks regularly will not only help keep your unit running, they will also help detect major problems before they occur, potentially avoiding costly repairs.

This is especially important for units installed in an attic, where leaks could spill up to 10 gallons of water a day into your ceiling, onto your hardwood floors, onto your electrical wiring, etc. Don’t risk serious damage to your home that could have been prevented by a simple routine check-up—sign up for a maintenance plan today!

Air Conditioning Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to some of the questions we frequently get asked about air conditioners.

  • How often do I need to change the filter on my air conditioner?

You should change the filter on your air conditioner once a month in most cases, unless you have a HEPA filter, which only needs to be changed once every 6-12 months.

  • Why isn’t my air conditioner working?

There are many things that could keep an air conditioner from working properly, including frozen coils, refrigerant leaks, or malfunctioning compressors or fans.  It could even be a combination of several problems.  Our technicians will be able to tell you what the problem is after they have inspected your unit.

  • When should I stop repairing an old air conditioner that keeps breaking and just buy a new air conditioner?

There are many ways to answer this question, but one way to answer it would be to say that if you are currently spending more money to keep an old air conditioner running than what the payments would cost for a new air conditioner (if you were to finance a purchase of a new air conditioner), then you’re probably better off replacing your unit.

Also keep in mind that new air conditioners are much more efficient than older models, especially if you purchase an Energy Star-certified unit.  This would help you save money on your electric bill.

  • What does Energy-Star certified mean?

ENERGY STAR® is the government-backed symbol for energy efficiency.  Products with this symbol have met EPA standards for quality, performance, and savings.  You can learn more about the program here.

  • How cold should I set my air conditioner?

The answer to that depends on what temperature you’re comfortable at and how much you’re willing to spend on your energy bill, but for most people a comfortable temperature is around 75 degrees
